On June 8, 2019, Sweet Candy Café owner Felicia Evans Long was one of five Shaw University Alumni recognized as Vanguard Fellows during the Annual Legends Ball. Vanguard Fellows are nominated by their peers.
The Legends Ball is presented by the Shaw University Office of Alumni Relations and National Alumni Association of Shaw University (NAASU), and is the closing banquet for NAASU's annual conference. The event recognizes alumni for achievements in their respective fields, from recent graduates and beyond, with categories for Rising Stars, Emerging Leaders, Vanguards and Living Legends of Shaw University.
